January 6, 2009: SKETCH COMEDY INDUSTRY SHOWCASE JANUARY 17th
The Playground is proud to announce our THIRD ANNUAL INDUSTRY SHOWCASE featuring some of Chicago's best Sketch Comedy Groups. The Showcase will have shows at 2 and 4pm on saturday January 17th. The Industry Showcase is FREE to anyone attending who says they love FREE COMEDY. The groups perfroming will be announced shortly.January 5, 2009: DIRECTORS SERIES
The Playground is launching its DIRECTOR'S SERIES beginning January 2009 on Wednesdays at 8pm. The first Directors Series Show is Improvised Jane Austen directed by the Space Robbers and Big Yellow Bus's Barry Hite.

The Playgroground is implementing a new program called THE IMPROVISERS STUDIO. The Improvisers Studio will be a bi-weekly class tuaght by member of the Chicago Improv Community. Classes and instructors will vary from session to session but one thing will remain constant..the classes are FREE. Classes will begin in January and will require people to pre-register to attend. Classes will be available for Playgrounders and non-Playgrounders alike. if you are interested in teaching a class email improvisersstudio@the-playground.com.

For those teams interested in becoming a Member Team at The Playground Theater, there will be a general information meeting on Sunday, December 14th at 2:30PM at the theater. The meeting is expected to last less than an hour. Only one representative per team needs to attend, though more are always welcome. Questions can be sent to: martin@the-playground.com.
